
The Tennessee Lady Vols lost in a heart-breaker tonight, 1-0 in a game that went to extra innings. Monica Abbott pitched a beautiful game giving up only 1 run in the 10th inning and striking out 11 batters.
The College Softball World Series is now tied 1-1 in a best of three series. Taryne Mowatt was the key player in the Arizona Wildcats win this evening, keeping the Lady Vol hitters at bay, while pitching a shutout.
Arizona is still alive in the women’s College World Series after Tuesday’s pitchers’ duel.
Starter Taryne Mowatt carried the Wildcats, pitching a 10-inning shutout and giving up only 7 hits, as Arizona beat Tennessee 1-0 in the best-of-three series that is now tied at one game a piece.
I have to thank Mrs. Pelot for reminding me this evening about the game. I had forgotten that it was on ESPN tonight and was sitting down to watch my City Council recording and thankfully, she mentioned it at the beginning of the meeting. The down side to that is I never did get around to watching the rest of the City Council meeting.
